The Classic Rock Veterans, America, Are Ready to Amp Up Your Friday Evening

Classic rock fans, listen up! Rock veterans America are back on the road, bringing their popular brand of vocals and acoustic guitar to San Antonio, Texas for a very special engagement at Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Don’t miss it on Friday, February 1st!

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of perennial classic-rock favorite, America. Founding members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell (along with former band mate Dan Peek) met in high school in London in the late 1960s and quickly harmonized their way to the top of the charts on the strength of their signature song “A Horse with No Name.”

America soon became a household name and their best-known tunes, which also include “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don’t Cross the River,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People,” and “Sister Golden Hair” were cornerstones of 1970s Top 40 and FM rock radio. Having been inducted into the Vocal Hall of Fame in 2006, the band also has their own star on Hollywood Boulevard, recognizing them as an important contributor to the musical arts.

After fifty prolific years, these friends are still making music together, touring the world and thrilling audiences with their timeless sound. Their 2006 album Here & Now saw the band collaborate with a new generation of artists including Ryan Adams, Ben Kweller and Jim James among others. Now, America comes to San Antonio for one night of full-throttle entertainment.

Get your tickets now to see America live at Tobin Center! General admission tickets begin at 40 dollars. Two VIP package options are also available and include a ticket to the show along with special merch and an autographed CD.
