Learn about the shared culinary heritage of San Antonio and Mexico through a series of pocket sized cookbooks published at the turn of the twentieth century. These recipe books are a window into the Mexican culinary traditions and popular culture of the time.

Best of all, free recipe cards for a few choice dishes are available while supplies last. Replicate some of history’s best dishes and pay tribute to Mexican American heritage with delicious meals you can make at home!

Admission to La Cocina en el Bolsillo: Early 20th Century Recipes for a Mexican Palate is 4 dollars for adults, 3 dollars for seniors, and free for children 5 and under. Students and children aged 6 to 18 may enjoy 3 dollar admission. Parking is available in nearby city lots and designated street parking areas.
