Six Flags Fiesta Texas showcases an incredible new Mardi Gras Festival and Parade this spring! Every operating day March 24 through April 30, the park will be transformed into a Texas version of downtown New Orleans.
The all-new Mardi Gras Festival will feature eight visually stunning authentic Mardi Gras floats handcrafted by world-renowned float designer, Kern Studios. The high-energy parade will run daily at 5:30 PM, on a route through the Rockville, Kidzopolis and Spassburg areas of the park, while special culinary and entertainment offerings can be enjoyed throughout Fiesta Texas. The designs featured on the floats will vary from Mardi Gras King and Queen to one displaying the seasonal celebration, Dia de los Muertos, and several others depicting special festivals in other parts of the world, including Rio’s Carnival. The parade procession will also pause along the way at two locations to feature the live music of the seven-member King William Brass Band, and allow guests to interact with the float participants. In typical Mardi Gras style, vibrant beads will be thrown from all eight of the 16-foot-tall floats.
Marching alongside the parade, stilt walkers, street performers and Mardi Gras characters are bringing the essence of The Big Easy to the streets of Fiesta Texas.
As well as a dazzling parade, the park will also be offering favorite Mardi Gras culinary offerings. From King Cake to beignets to Cajun style popcorn crawfish, there is sure to be something to please everyone’s palate. Authentic adult beverages such as New Orleans hurricanes and Southern Comfort Sweet Tea will be offered at one or more locations. Mardi Gras themed gumbo, jambalaya, milkshakes and colorful cotton candy are also available.
Community interaction is an important part of life, which is why Oxford at Estonia Apartments in San Antonio, Texas is urging you to join in the all of the excitement at this event!
